Job Summary:

As a Logistics Coordinator (LC), you will perform a variety of duties dedicated to helping our customers move their products and manage their supply chains efficiently and cost-effectively. Expectations include strong and effective communication skills, professional appearance, the aptitude to follow instructions and suggest improvements to existing processes, adept at managing projects and the ability to work under pressure with timelines. Day-to-day activities will include shipper and carrier communications, carrier sourcing and negotiations, problem-solving, and order management. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, be customer service oriented with a sense of urgency, have clear and effective communication skills, and enjoy talking to people daily.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understand the freight transportation life cycle from beginning to end
  • Determine market rates for carriers, including what rates to offer carriers based on lane, equipment and other considerations
  • Choose correct equipment based on freight and customer needs. Ask the appropriate questions to avoid issues during transport
  • Source, onboard, negotiate rates, and build relationships with carriers
  • Manage the movement of shipments in real time, resolving issues that arise while the load is in transit and ensuring service metrics are met or exceeded and SOPs are followed
  • Build loads, coordinate pickups and deliveries, including pre-calls and shipment tracking
  • Collaborate with your teammates to make sure the work gets done, including appropriately delegating tasks to the CS team in a clear and efficient manner and providing support to the CS team
  • Conduct regular RFPs as needed
  • Ensure all load related information in the TMS is accurate
  • Rotating on call for nights/weekends
  • Support accounting team in meeting customer requirements for payment
  • Build strong relationships with clients, carriers and your teammates
  • Communicate professionally, warmly and with clarity
  • Driving for results is a MUST

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Driven, self-motivated, teamwork and results oriented
  • Ability to negotiate and think on your feet in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills including active listening. Effective communicator across multiple teams in the organization
  • Service-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to resolve customer issues.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office 365, utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams
  • Experience in Salesforce, DAT, Truckstop, Carrier 411, and other systems

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Pay Type: Starting at $45,000/ year, plus commission (waiting period may apply)
