As part of our dedication to nurturing future leaders, we are excited to offer a 12-to-18-month rotational development opportunity with the Logistics Specialist role.  

Job Overview:  

The rotational development program for Logistics Specialist is an immersive training program designed to prepare motivated individuals for leadership roles within the Company. This program will provide participants with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in logistics operations and client account management, develop a deep understanding of our business, and build a strong foundation for a successful career in the field. Through this program participants will have the opportunity to work within different business models to identify their strengths and interests. At the end of the program, participants and managers identify which career path to pursue, client account management or operations team management. 

 

During the rotation you will rotate across roles that cover the following functions: 

  • Procurement and Vendor Management. Sourcing and developing strong relationships with carriers, carrier rate negotiations and carrier performance management. 
  • Shipment Planning and Optimization. Organizing shipments and identifying opportunities to optimize the client’s freight movement to improve service or rates. 
  • Customer Relationship Management. Manage a client’s day-to-day needs and longer-term strategic needs with high-level service. Work closely with the operations teams to identify solutions to client challenges and develop client presentations on our team’s performance and strategic partnership initiatives. Identify opportunities to grow our partnership with existing clients. 

 

Throughout the rotation, you will have opportunities to collaborate with the departments below in day-to-day operations and on dedicated projects to build out your skillset and strategic understanding of our business. 

 

  • Data Analytics and Reporting. Collaborate with analytics team to review customer’s data and identify opportunities in their transportation spend or processes. 
  • Process Development and Automation. Collaborate with the technology team to identify and implement solutions to improve operations team efficiency or customers’ experience. 
  • Sales. Work closely with sales team to ensure we are delivering on the promises made to our customer. Share opportunities you may come across to source additional business. 
  • Audit and Accounting. Work with the accounting department to understand account profitability holistically beyond day-to-day operations.

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 

  • Eagerness to learn and proactive approach to professional development 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Job Type: Full Time, On-site, Monday-Friday 

Pay: $45,000 – $55,000 per year 

Supplemental Pay: Commission (waiting period may apply)
